Privacy Policy

When you use Automart, we collect:

• Mobile number — required to sign up. We verify it by SMS OTP.
• Name and (optional) email — shown on your listings and used for notifications.
• Listing content — photos, descriptions, prices, and contact details you choose to publish.
• Usage signals — anonymous view counts and click counts on your own listings, so we can show you basic analytics.
• Payment metadata — the amount, package, and date of each transaction. We do not store your card number, expiry, or CVV; those are handled directly by the Bank of Maldives (BML).

• To run the marketplace — show your listings, route enquiries, manage your account.
• To verify ownership of phone numbers and ad submissions.
• To send transactional notifications (listing approved, payment received, etc.).
• To moderate the platform and respond to reports of abusive content.
• To debug technical issues and prevent fraud.

• Data is stored in Supabase, with row-level security so that users can only see their own private data.
• Card details are never collected by Automart. BML's secure hosted checkout takes them directly and confirms the transaction back to us.
• We use HTTPS everywhere, with TLS for data in transit.
• Only authorised staff with a verified phone number and admin role can access the moderation tools.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• BML — for processing card payments (transaction amount and reference only).
• MsgOwl — for sending SMS OTPs to your mobile number.
• Email service providers we use to send transactional notifications.
• Authorities, if required by Maldivian law.

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or ask us to delete your account at any time. Contact us via the Contact page.

Account and listing data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information but retain anonymised transaction metadata for accounting and tax compliance.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be flagged on the site. By continuing to use Automart, you accept the updated policy.
